PACKAGING MECHANIC

JOB Specs:

The overall responsibility is to provide mechanical, electrical, and controls support to packaging as needed, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance (PM), changeover, modifications, and line equipment repair to ensure its efficient operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery in the packaging area.
Set up production lines as instructed by the daily management tracker.
Effectively and accurately troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to equipment and machinery to maintain production and maintenance schedules.
Disassemble machinery and equipment to determine worn or broken parts. Repair or replace necessary parts using new parts from stock or manufacturing parts for machinery or equipment.
Continually check equipment and machines to ensure they function correctly for quality, safety, and quantity.
Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed.
Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Read and interpret documents such as SOP / GMP, Safety Rules, and Operating and Maintenance Instructions.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults (PLC, fuses, relays, etc.)
Nonessential Functions/Demands:

High school diploma/GED or Technical Degree.
3+ years' experience as a Packaging/ maintenance mechanic.
Knowledge and adherence to GMPs.
Knowledge of packaging machinery, specifically bottle, pouch, cartoning, and thermoform
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational/time management skills.

- Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
