Associate Director, Business Development and Transactions to help
us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases.
Reporting to the Director, Business Development & Transactions the
Associate Director will be a part of Insmed’s Corporate Development
team which has responsibility for supporting the development and
execution of both short- and long-term growth strategies of the
Company. The group is responsible for shaping and executing Insmed
BD strategy and will identify, evaluate, value, structure, and
negotiate business opportunities including acquisitions,
in-licensing, and strategic alliances. The Associate Director of BD
will focus on the transactional aspect of the due diligence and is
expected to support the evaluation (due diligence, valuation,
structuring, negotiation) and presentation of BD opportunities to
governance bodies. What You'll Do: In this role, you’ll have the
opportunity to collaborate and support the Business Development
Transactions Lead on the diligence and transaction processes from
business case development through closing. You’ll also: Lead the
evaluation of scientific and data-driven analyses and prepare
written/oral summaries/presentations of the uncovered information
related to new product in-licensing, acquisitions, or merger.
Support the diligence plans required to evaluate and complete
transactions. Help coordinate and direct the business cross
functional team as well as external advisor relationships
(investment banks, law firms, accounting firms) according to agreed
diligence plan. Support and conduct strategic, market, competitive,
and financial analyses of business development opportunities,
including potential acquisitions, divestitures, alliances and
strategic investments. Maintain databases of opportunities and
historical records of previous evaluations. Establish external and
internal networks to support market intelligence and identification
of relevant business transformation opportunities for growth.
Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with teams such as
Commercial, Market Access, Sales, Research, Clinical, Regulatory,
CMC, Finance, and Legal. Attend external partnering and scientific
conferences and meetings. Who You Are: You must have a Bachelor’s
degree, 3 years of business experience (preferably in the
Pharma/Biotech BD groups or corporate Finance), and 5 years of
experience in the life sciences, medical, or health care industry.
Additionally, you have: Exceptional knowledge of disease areas,
drug development activities, and commercial processes. Strong
understanding of corporate finance, modeling, and deep project
management skills. Experience structuring, negotiating, and closing
business development-related transactions. Experience working in a
matrixed team environment with ability to collaborate effectively
with colleagues and external partners. Ability to partner with
attorneys and other deal professionals in developing and evolving
transaction structures, integrating due diligence findings, and
driving successful negotiation outcomes. Experience in presenting
recommendations and influencing internal and external groups.
Excellent communication (both written and verbal), leadership,
interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Nice to have (but not
required): Degree focused on Biology, Cell Biology, Neurology, or
other related discipline. Where You’ll Work This can be a fully
remote role because the selected candidate should be able to
perform effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your
Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or
events will be expected. Alternatively, if you live within a
drivable distance of our Bridgewater, NJ facilities, you’ll have
the option to work remotely most of the time, but with more
in-person collaboration when it matters most. Travel Requirements
This role requires occasional domestic travel (approximately
10-20%). LI-MM1 LI-Remote Pay Range: $164,000.00-213,000.00 Annual
