Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical
Services Specialty: Central Sterile Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift:
Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred
License: NY State license required for all nursing positions
Certifications: HSPA/CRCST/CBSPD required Must-Have: 2 supervisory
clinical references required Description: Guaranteed hours: 40. No
patient contact involved. Scrubs will be provided. Previous charge
experience is a plus. Must have experience with charting systems.
Community hospital experience is preferred. Previous travel
experience is required. Skills required include working in an acute
hospital OR and cleaning equipment such as crash carts and IV
pumps. Knowledge of high-level disinfection (HLD) processes is
necessary. Experience with washers and sterilizers is required.
Must have familiarity with case carts and proper selection of
wrapping materials. Experience in sterilization wrapping procedures
and sets/trays assembly is needed. Knowledge of equipment
documentation, as well as various specialties including
Ear/Nose/Throat, General, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and
Urology, is required. Must be capable of performing steam
sterilization testing and monitoring. Immediate-use steam
sterilization (IUSS) experience is also necessary. Travel
compliance requires a history of prior permanent and travel work
history to be listed. Orientation is conducted once a month.
Reference checks will be performed, and charge RN references are
acceptable. Local candidates will be accepted at a lower bill rate
for all specialties. All Allied certifications must be included.
Modules will vary by specialty and are completed during orientation
