Data Governance Manager – Legal & Compliance in New York, NY As a
Data Governance Manager – Legal & Compliance: Job Description The
Legal & Compliance Division (LCD) plays a critical role in
supporting the firm's global business by ensuring regulatory
adherence, protecting the firm's reputation, and managing key risk
areas. The division advises on new products, supports cross?border
transactions, develops compliance training, and maintains strong
relationships with regulatory and self?regulatory agencies. The
Non?Financial Risk (NFR) Department serves as the second line of
defense for managing non?financial risks, including financial
crimes, market abuse, and operational risk. The NFR Data &
Analytics team builds and enhances surveillance models using
advanced analytics—such as machine learning and graph analytics—to
detect suspicious or illegal activity. Client is seeking a Data
Governance Manager to support the LCD Divisional Data Office in
driving adoption of data governance standards, managing data
initiatives, and ensuring high?quality data practices across the
organization. Responsibilities Implement the division’s data
governance framework in partnership with business, technology, and
central Data Governance Office. Provide guidance to stakeholders on
data governance best practices and support standardization across
functional areas. Manage the book of work for priority data
initiatives and strategic LCD data projects. Track and support
remediation efforts for data?related issues across the Legal &
Compliance Division. Identify opportunities to enhance existing
program processes and improve governance efficiency. This is a
Contract full time opportunity. The ideal candidate will have:
Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in a
data?related role. Strong understanding of data governance, issue
management, and regulatory?aligned data standards. Excellent
organizational and project?management skills with the ability to
balance daily deliverables and long?term initiatives. Attention to
detail and ability to drive progress independently. Exceptional
written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work
effectively with global, cross?functional teams. Additional Skills
(Preferred but Not Required) Experience in Legal, Compliance,
non?Financial Risk, or financial?services environments. Familiarity
with data quality tools, governance platforms, or analytics
technologies. Pay Rate: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour *Pay range offered
to a successful candidate will be based on several factors,
including the candidate's education, work experience, work
location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualified
