Analytics Strategy Director is responsible for shaping and
delivering Novo Nordisk’s US Commercial data strategy across
diabetes, obesity, and other cardiometabolic therapeutic areas.
This role leads the acquisition, integration, and activation of
commercial data assets to enable high-impact insights, informed
decision-making, and measurable business outcomes. Serving as a
strategic leader and trusted partner to Commercial stakeholders,
the Associate Director aligns data and analytics capabilities to
the organization’s most critical priorities while building a
modern, scalable data foundation. This foundation is designed not
only to meet today’s commercial needs, but to power Novo Nordisk’s
future ambitions in AI, advanced analytics, and data-driven
innovation. Relationships The Associate Data & Analytics Strategy
Director reports to the Director, Data & Analytics Strategy. This
role maintains frequent interaction with leaders across Novo
Nordisk Inc., including department leads and executive leadership,
to ensure strong alignment between commercial business needs and
enterprise data and analytics strategy. Essential Functions
Commercial Data Strategy & Business PartnershipDevelop and execute
the US Commercial data strategy across diabetes, obesity, and
broader cardiometabolic therapeutic areas, aligned to brand,
portfolio, and enterprise priorities Serve as a strategic thought
partner to Commercial, Enterprise Insights & Analytics, Marketing,
Market Access, Patient Services, and Sales leadership to ensure
data and analytics capabilities directly enable business and
patient outcomes Translate evolving business questions into
scalable data, analytics, and capability roadmaps Enterprise Data
Integration & GovernancePartner closely with DD&IT, Compliance,
Legal, Privacy, and Procurement to onboard, integrate, and
operationalize commercial data assets in a compliant and scalable
manner Own governance of commercial data definitions, KPIs, and
metric calculations for supported therapeutic areas to ensure
consistency, transparency, and auditability Establish clear data
ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management practices across
internal and external data sources Data Foundation and
EnablementProvide strategic leadership on the evolution of the US
Commercial data foundation, including data architecture, tooling,
and platform capabilities Define future-state data needs to enable
advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning use cases (e.g.,
predictive forecasting, patient finding, next-best-action) Drive
prioritization of high-value analytical capabilities that
accelerate time-to-insight and improve decision quality Insights &
Analytics EnablementPartner with Enterprise Insights & Analytics
and AI & Advanced Analytics teams to ensure data assets and
analytical solutions are fit-for-purpose and deliver actionable,
decision-ready insights Strengthen the organization’s ability to
deliver predictive and prescriptive analytics that drive sales
performance, customer engagement, and patient outcomes Champion
data storytelling and ensure insights are translated into clear
business implications and actions External Data & Vendor
ManagementLead data acquisition strategy for US Commercial,
including evaluation, selection, and onboarding of external data
sources (e.g., claims, EMR, payer, specialty pharmacy) Manage
external data and analytics solution provider partnerships,
including contracts, performance, and budget oversight Ensure
vendor accountability for data quality, timeliness, and contractual
deliverables Global & Cross-Market CollaborationDrive alignment
with global and regional counterparts on data standards,
capabilities, and shared analytical assets Contribute to global
data strategy evolution by sharing US Commercial requirements, best
practices, and lessons learned Physical Requirements 0-10%
overnight travel required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in
Mathematics, Science, Business Administration, Analytics, or a
related field required; advanced degree preferred Minimum of 9
years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences
industry, with demonstrated experience supporting US Commercial
organizations Proven ability to develop and deliver data and
analytics solutions that address complex business needs in a
matrixed environment Strong knowledge of US pharmaceutical
commercial data, including experience with IQVIA datasets such as
Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, DDD, and LAAD (or equivalent) Experience
leading or managing data and analytics initiatives, including data
acquisition, integration, governance, and enablement Demonstrated
ability to engage, influence, and partner with senior leaders and
executive stakeholders Comfortable operating in ambiguity and
complexity, with the ability to synthesize information into clear
strategic direction Strong organizational, project management, and
analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
simultaneously Customer focused mindset with excellent
communication and stakeholder management skills Experience managing
external vendors, contracts, and budgets related to data and
analytics services The base compensation range for this position is
$175,000 to $235,000. Base compensation is determined based on a
number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company
bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk
offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles
depending on the position's level or other company factors.
