Job Description: This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies. Job Profile Summary: This role is for a Feature Lead in the Generative AI Core Engineering Team , responsible for designing and delivering high-performance, scalable, and secure APIs to support Generative AI workloads. The role requires expertise in API development, containerization, distributed systems, and enterprise-grade coding practices. The Feature Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives while adhering to technical standards. Responsibilities: Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt Guides the team on work breakdown and execution Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices) Develops and trouble-shoots high-performance APIs using FastAPI and Python. Implements distributed caching mechanisms, containerization and message queues for scalable systems. Ensures CI/CD pipelines are in place for automated testing and deployment. Required Qualifications: 7 years of experience in software development with a focus on API design and development. Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI for building high-performance APIs. Proficiency in asynchronous programming and RESTful API design principles. Experience with API Gateway concepts, including authentication, routing, throttling, and transformations. Hands-on experience with distributed caching, containers and message queues. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Experience with profiling tools for identifying bottlenecks in distributed systems. Desired Qualifications: Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT). Familiarity with streaming APIs and WebSocket protocols. Proficiency in OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing, metrics, and logs. Familiarity with Splunk and Dynatrace for log aggregation and performance monitoring. Knowledge of environment-specific configurations and secrets management.
